I'm so grateful for the help we received from Jennie. Our dog struggled with constant barking at the front door, people coming into our home and separation anxiety, we felt totally stuck. Thanks to Jennie's calm guidance and practical techniques, I feel more confident going forward. I would highly recommend Jennie.

Jennie is actual magic. We have a Romanian rescue who we have trained but her barking in the evenings was getting out of control. There's so much advice online it's hard to know what works best. Then enters Jennie and within minutes the training and advice had already made a difference. My husband and I both agree it's the best money we have ever spent. Jennie is so friendly and lovely too. We never felt judged at all, just supported. It's made such a difference to our lives in just a week. We can't thank Jennie enough.

Jennie visited us to help us with our lovely but lively 4.5 year old vizsla Evie. We have a 12 month old and another on the way, and have needed some advice on how to handle Evie in moments of high energy when she is overcome with emotion. Not only is Jennie super lovely but she is extremely knowledgeable, and in only 2 hours me and my husband felt like we learned so much. Thank you so much Jennie.

Facebook recommendation · reactive Rottweiler support

"I actually enjoy spending time with him now instead of dreading what he'll be like."

I approached Jennie due to having a reactive Rottweiler. After a long discussion about my concerns and his different behaviours he was assessed. It turns out he's just scared and apprehensive of most new situations. Spending time with Jennie has taught me more about my behaviours when something happens or when I see a dog approaching as well as understanding why he reacts the way that he does and giving me the confidence to take it in my stride so he is not picking up on nerves or worries.

I can honestly say that it was one of the best things I've ever done and continue to do and the amount of new places that we've been able to take our dog has been amazing. I actually enjoy spending time with him now instead of dreading what he'll be like.

Google review · rescue Border Collie and lead walking

"Our dog was very responsive and walking properly on a lead started to improve."

Jennie came to see me and my wife at home to help with our new rescue border collie who has a number of issues. She was very thorough in her advice and clearly knew her stuff as our dog was very responsive. We went for a walk and she made various suggestions which seem to be working as regards walking properly on a lead. Followed up with a very helpful email. Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you Jennie. 5 stars.

Facebook recommendation · rescue dogs and house manners

"I saw results from the behaviour almost immediately."

I recently had a consultation from Jennie as I have two rescue dogs from abroad and was experiencing problems with reactivity and house manners. Jennie was very knowledgeable and helpful and I saw results from the behaviour almost immediately. She explained how to communicate in dog language and it was really interesting. The follow up notes are excellent as a reminder of how to intercept any further problems. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her services.

What you can expect

A Calmer, More Confident Dog

Tailored, practical support that helps your dog feel safer and more settled.

Clear Communication and Stronger Connection

Positive reinforcement, clear communication, and real, lasting results for both you and your dog.

A Positive, Sustainable Training Plan

Support that helps you feel empowered as an owner, ready to tackle future challenges with confidence and clarity.

Support that fits real life

When life with your dog feels hard, the first step is usually simpler than owners expect.

You do not need to fix everything at once. You just need a clear starting point.

Jennie helps owners understand what their dog is finding difficult, what may be making it worse, and what to change first. That might be home routines, visitor setups, reward choices, lead handling, distance on walks, or simply slowing the whole picture down.

The aim is not to leave you with a huge list and more pressure. It is to help you feel clearer, calmer, and more confident about what to do next.

A first consultation often includes

  • A calm look at the behaviour that is worrying you most
  • Practical advice for the home, the walk, or both
  • Positive reinforcement work tailored to your dog's needs
  • Written notes so you know what to keep doing afterwards
  • A better sense of what will make the biggest difference first
At home

Support feels easier to trust when you can picture it in a real home.

Calm home-based support shows that Jennie's work is practical, personal, and built around everyday life.

On walks

Walk coaching works best when it looks steady, realistic, and unhurried.

Natural outdoor coaching helps owners picture calm handling and real support in motion.

Why owners stay with Jennie

Owners often say the same thing afterwards: they finally understand what their dog is struggling with, the advice feels manageable, and they no longer feel blamed for finding things hard.

That matters. The best support should help you feel steadier, not smaller. Jennie works with positive reinforcement, clear communication, and realistic plans that hold up in everyday life.

The goal is not a polished training moment. It is calmer days, easier walks, and more trust between you and your dog.

A good fit if you need help with

  • Reactivity and barking when walks or home life feel tense and unpredictable
  • Puppy foundations for routines, biting, lead basics, confidence, and calmer early habits
  • Visitor and home-life behaviour when arrivals, noise, or overstimulation are making things hard
  • Calmer walks with better handling, more confidence, and clearer support for both of you

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a dog behaviourist do?

I look at the emotions driving behaviour such as fear, frustration, and stress, and create clear, practical plans that change how your dog feels, not just what they do.

Where are you based and which areas do you cover?

I'm based in South Woodham Ferrers and cover Essex. If you're unsure I cover your area, send me a WhatsApp message and I'll confirm.

Do you use positive reinforcement?

Yes. Positive reinforcement and reward-based methods only. We keep dogs under threshold, build confidence and choice, and never use aversive tools or intimidation.

Can you help with reactive or aggressive dogs?

Absolutely. I specialise in big feelings like barking and lunging, fear, guarding and visitor worries. We create a safety-first plan and practise calm alternatives your dog can succeed with.
